General Application
These accessories are intended for use with MI-FLEX multi-fuel flexible flue liners. In accordance with Building Regulations Document J, flexible flue liners must be fully enclosed within a masonry chimney. Non-masonry enclosures, such as timber or plasterboard boxing-in, are not permissible. This adaptor and its counterparts are suitable for appliances operating at temperatures up to 600°C (T600 designation), making them ideal for use with wood (less than 20% moisture), smokeless coal, gas, and oil.
Bottom Fixings
Bottom fixings are crucial for transitioning from the connecting flue system to the flexible flue liner. Connections to the flex should occur within the existing masonry chimney to ensure no flex is visible. Secure the bottom fixing to the connecting flue below and the flexible flue liner above to maintain a gas-tight seal, using fire cement, ceramic rope tape, or high-temperature sealant as necessary.
